State Licensing Requirements

The State of West Virginia requires that students attend and complete the required hours for the Cosmetology program (1800), Hair Stylist (1000), Esthetics (600), and Nail Technology program (400). The student must also complete the curriculum requirements within the designated hours of the program. Students are then eligible to register for the State Board Exam. The State Board Exam includes a written and practical evaluation. Upon completion, students receive a Cosmetology, Hair Stylist, Esthetics, or Nail Technology license, valid for work in the State of West Virginia.
